Golf, Back to the Frustration..... but that's not a bad thing

So I started playing golf again.........

A few weeks ago one of the guys I work with at BMW started talking about getting into playing golf as his son who was a good young player had decided to take a break from the game.

Being as I haven't swung a club in 2 years (They have been sat idle) I thought it would be a good time to start up again as we should hopefully be at least in the same stage so should be able to improve together as we go along.

Well, I've been going the gym on a semi-regular basis and building up some muscle but I had forgotten all about the "Golf Muscles" the muscles in your body that are ONLY used for playing Golf, or so it seems......

I walked of the course on a Sunday 4 weeks ago feeling like I had just been run over by a truck, an 18 wheeler truck!! whickh then reversed and ran over me again........

But over the past 3 weeks I've played rounds on the Sundays and I'm getting back into the Swing.... Pun Intended. I'm still no Rory McIlroy but its coming back to me slowly and the pain isn't as bad in my back and shoulders which tells me that I'm starting to be a bit more relaxed when I'm playing.

Golf is quite an expensive game here in Jamaica and I'm playing at the Constant Spring Golf & Country Club in Kingston and I've been invited over to Montego Bay to play there one weekend but I'm leaving that for when I improve.

I'm at the stage now where it's one or 2 shots throughout a whole round that are keeping me enthusiastic and coming back for more each week :-) Like this next one....

This is the 18th at Constant Spring, I played an approach shot from the fairway didn't get enough height to land it softly and went straight through the green and off the back onto a lower tier behind probably 20 yards from the flag, talk about gutted!!!

So off I went with my pitching wedge in hand thinking if I could just chip it on to the green I might have a chance at a long putt to finish.
Well I took a few practice swings with all of the people sat outside the clubhouse looking on, chipped the ball up to the edge of the green where it bounced a couple of times, took off like a cat with its tail on fire down the green and popped itself nicely in the hole:-) got some claps from the onlookers and that was my Tiger woods moment for the weekend, Ill be back next week!!
